Versatile and adaptable. Humans thrive in any environment and excel at finding their own path through the world.

Baseline: Gain +1 to any single attribute of your choice. Add Versatile to your Presence Tags.
Skilled (Familiarity): Gain proficiency in one additional skill.
Adaptable (Chapter): Once per scene, you may treat a skill you are not proficient in as if you were proficient for one check.
Determined (Chapter): When you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you may immediately take one additional action before falling unconscious.

Lore

In the dawn of creation, humans were the original person. When God asked the Watchers He had set in place as stewards of creation who among them would provide fitting companions for His children, many answered. From this union, a variety of lineages were formed.

As the Multiplicity of Alternatives took hold and harmony was lost, conflict arose within these lineages. Over time, they parted — some remaining as humans, while others became distinct peoples with exaggerated features reflecting their more harmonious bloodlines.

In the present age, humans remain the most versatile of all peoples. They advance quickly along any path they choose, whether martial, mystical, scholarly, or otherwise. Their strength lies not in specialization, but in their remarkable capacity to adapt, learn, and endure.

Watchers

Angelic stewards, archons, and other spiritual beings. Eventualities of rational order formed within the interworking patterns of the world — distinct active forces, akin to programs running within the greater structure of reality itself.

Baseline: Gain +1 Presence and +1 Insight. Add Angelic and Aligned to your Presence Tags.
Exalted Presence (Familiarity): You gain advantage on social checks when acting in accordance with your created purpose.
Vigilant (Familiarity): You cannot be surprised while you are actively watching or guarding.
Radiant Form (Chapter): Once per scene, you may reveal your true nature, granting allies within 30 feet advantage on their next roll.
Diminishment (Chapter): If you act against your alignment, you may choose to suffer a permanent loss of 1 Presence or Insight to avoid greater consequence.
Note: Watchers are not material creatures. They retain their full strength only while remaining aligned with their created purpose. Should they depart from that alignment, their power gradually wanes until they are diminished to near nothing — though they do not perish as mortal beings do. Their Exalt features reflect this living connection to Virdictum.
